Graduates with a degree in sociology from Furman have gone on to medical and
law school at top-ranked programs. Many have become physician's assistants or
found jobs with the Departments of Justice or Education, non-profit
organizations, or in the field of social work. Other areas in which sociology
graduates find work include administration, advertising, banking, counseling,
community planning, health services, journalism, group and recreation work,

social research.
