The Johnson-Webb Award is awarded each year to a junior or senior who has shown general excellence and academic promise in the field of sociology. The honor was established by Dr. Eugene M. Johnson, emeritis professor of sociology, and his wife in honor of his parents. His parents were long-time educators in the Louisiana public school system.
