  • Current disciplinary research interests

Modern American History, specifically women’s history, WWII, social movements of the 1960s and 1970s, the institutional history of Furman University, Upcountry SC history, public history, oral history

  • Interest in connecting sustainability to research

I am becoming more aware of how the post-WWII technology and economic boom resulted in the development of materials and practices that we now deem unsustainable. I’d like to explore this in greater detail. I also have examined the structure and practices of social movements in my dissertation research and in my teaching, and am interested in potentially examining the movement towards sustainability and how it maintains and breaks new ground in relation to previous social movements.
