  • Current disciplinary research interests

As an environmental sociologist I am currently conducting researching on environmental values, food, and immigration. For example, I have a forthcoming publication (in Population Research and Policy Review) on the relationship (or lack of) between immigration and air pollution. My dissertation research focused on the intersection of gender and other socio-demographic characteristics of environmental concern.

  • Interest in connecting sustainability to research

I am interested in conducting interdisciplinary research on food. The study of food as it relates to sustainability is an emerging research topic, is of increasing concern among the general public, and is extremely relatable to students. An ideal goal of mine is to create an interdisciplinary reader on food to be used for undergraduate instruction.
