John T. Pellew, Jr.
John T. Pellew graduated with a psychology major from
Furman in 1970, and then received an MS degree in biopsychology from
the University of Georgia. After teaching on an adjunct basis at Furman
for many years, he is currently a permanent part-time lecturer
associated with the psychology department. Mr. Pellew has successfully
sublimated a preoccupation with sex into a lucrative (?) career. He is
a Certified Sex Educator by the American Association of Sex Educators,
Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT). He teaches courses in Human
Sexuality and General Psychology.
Mr. Pellew
is retired from Greenville Technical College, where he was professor of
psychology. Aside from his preoccupation with sexual matters, Mr.
Pellew is also interested in art and ceramics.
Mr.
Pellew met his wife Sally when they were both undergraduates at Furman.
They have two grown children, a son Chris and a daughter Lane. The
Pellews enjoy swimming, gardening, hiking, and hanging out on weekends
at their mountain house at Jones Gap.
