Psychology

Class of 2002

Carrier, Amy
After graduation I completed my Master's in Marriage and Family therapy at ETSU and was at long last a therapist! I have been working since then. First, in a community mental health clinic in Bristol, TN with children and adolescents. Currently, for Camelot Care in Kingsport, TN. Camelot is an agency that trains therapeutic foster parents for children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral problems. Each child is assigned an in-home therapist (that's where I come in) who spends about three hours per week with each child. I have really enjoyed this job. However! On to more learning in Fall of 2006 at UNC Greensboro's doctoral program in Counselor Educaion which I am very excited about! Almost as exciting is the fact that I am running a half marathon at the end of April. Other than that I'm just having a lot of fun in my mind-twenties-favorite age yet!
Elledge, Chris
After graduating from Furman in 2002 I attended Florida Atlantic Univeristy where I received my Masters in Experimental Psychology, specialization developmental psychology, in 2005. I am currently working toward my PhD in Clincial Psychology at the University of Arkansas. My research focuses on identify risk and maintaining factors for child aggression and developing parent and school based interventions that target aggressive behavior in children.
Horner, Courtney
After spending 5 years in Augusta, GA for graduate school (MS in clinical psychology for me) and dental school (for my husband and Furman alum Trey), we have returned to Greenville! I am currently an adjunct professor at USC Upstate and teaching Abnormal Psychology and Developmental Psychology. I have recently accepted a contract from the SC Department of Mental Health to serve as an elementary school-based counselor.
