Nelson, Debbie
Married in 1989 to Jeff Smith, a Notre Dame graduate. He is a partner
in an Architectural firm in Atlanta. We live in Marietta, GA with our
2 boys, Jackson (13) and Mitchell (11) and our dog Buddy. Very involved
in our community and church. Still enjoy jogging, thanks to my Furman
PE professor.
Obtained a M.Ed. in Student Personnel in Higher Education from UGA
in 1989. Obtained a Ph.D. in Higher Education from Ga. State Univ. in
1995. Worked at Emory and Georgia Tech in Student Life and Student Activities.
Took a break to raise my children. Started working at Kennesaw State
University (KSU) as an adjunct faculty member in 1998. Went full-time
at KSU in the Fall of 2004. Am teaching Freshman Seminar and Senior
Seminar, both student success courses. I'm also the Coordinator of the
Senior Year Experience at KSU.
