Bagwell, Mary Kate
I worked in apartment management for 2 years after graduating from
Furman, then moved to Atlanta, Georgia to work at a residential treatment
facility for adolescents and to complete my Master's degree in Community
Counseling at Georgia State University. I went on to get licensed as
a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Georgia in 1991, and went
back to Georgia State to complete my Ph.D. in Counseling, completing
this degree in 1996. I now work as a full-time faculty member at Argosy
University, Atlanta in the Professional Counseling Department (which
provides a M.A. degree in Professional Counseling) and as a LPC in private
practice.
I married Don Reese in 1995, and we have one daughter, Cassie, who
was born in 1998. Our family also includes 2 Golden Retrievers and we
are involved as a foster home for Adopt-A- Golden Atlanta, a volunteer
organization that provides medical care, foster homes, and new home
placements fro Golden Retrievers who are turned in by owners or rescued
from shelters.
When I left Greenville in 1985 to come to Atlanta for a job and a Master's
degree, I thought at the time that I would only be gone for 2 years
and then would be back in Greenville....but Atlanta somehow became home
and I never moved back!
