Our partnership with Greenville Health System (GHS) provides Furman faculty and staff members with the opportunity to design educational and research programs that enable students to gain hands-on experience. As a faculty or staff member, you can develop programs that fit students’ interests in fields stretching across the health career spectrum.

Furman/GHS Program Request Form

If you would like to initiate a new collaborative program, you should first complete a Furman/GHS Program Request form.

Both our office and the Furman-GHS Development and Oversight Committee must approve the program proposal at least eight weeks prior to your program’s intended start date. We suggest submitting your program proposal to our office by the beginning of the semester prior to your program’s intended start date to provide adequate approval time. Download the form as a PDF

  • Our office must clear all participating faculty and students. This clearance process includes a criminal background check, Greenville Health System Orientation, vaccine record and a two-step TB test. It takes a minimum of six weeks to complete.
  • We expect students to adhere to all Greenville Health System policies and procedures. Students who violate this code will be removed from the program and the faculty sponsor will implement discipline actions at their discretion.
  • Faculty sponsors should determine the appropriate time to spend on-site at Greenville Health System based upon the program's intended amount of student participation.
