Dr. Donald P. Aiesi is professor of Politics and International Affairs at Furman University. Aiesi received his Bachelor of Arts from Stetson University, his Juris Doctorate from Duke University, his Master of Arts in British History from Emory University, and his Ph.D from the University of Florida. His areas of specialty are American Politics, Judicial Process, Constitutional Law, and English and Irish Politics.
Aiesi is a certified attorney with the United States Supreme Court and serves as a frequent contributor in national and state-wide election coverage. Aiesi has led semester and May X study abroad programs to the British Isles and Ireland.
Aiesi is the faculty advisor for the Pre-Law Society and the Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honor Society. He is a recipient of the Alester G. Furman, Jr. and Janie Earle Furman Award for Meritorious Teaching, 1982, and a recipient of the Furman Standard Award, 2012
Aiesi teaches courses in American Government, Civil Rights and the U.S. Constitution, Judicial Process and the U.S. Supreme Court, and the freshman seminar Winning the White House.
