Neuroscience
The Neuroscience major was founded in 2004 in response to student interest.
The major comprises a rigorous interdisciplinary mix of courses and emphasizes hands-on, investigative laboratory experience that encourage students to think critically and independently about current problems in the field.
Since it's founding, the major has flourished, and presently rivals in size those of traditional departments at Furman. In addition to its popularity, it has also been very successful in terms of student accomplishment: over 75% of graduates have been admitted to Ph.D or M.D. programs across the country.
