June 23-28, 2013
The Young Artist Vocal Experience is an intensive one-week workshop for talented solo singers and choristers ages 14-18 who perform song literature, oratorio, opera, and traditional musical theatre. Participants have the opportunity to develop their skills through voice classes, master classes, small ensembles, musicianship classes, student recitals, faculty recitals, and special topic sessions. Students are responsible for keeping their rooms clean, checking in with the counselors at assigned times and maintaining all guidelines stipulated in the confirmation packet.
Meals will be served in our main dining hall. Our hall features a variety of diet options, including a salad bar, carving station and a wood-fire
pizza oven. All meals are included in the boarding student fee.
Commuters will eat lunch and dinner with boarding students.
Students who drive to camp will be provided with a parking permit. However, students are not permitted to leave camp until the week's activities are complete. Curfews are enforced on each hall.
Counselors will supervise all activities. But the Furman University Police Department and local law enforcement will provide additional security.

Students should bring two performance-ready works for masterclass / recital and two
