Applied Jazz Improvisation

Continuation of topics from MUS-350. Individualized instruction, modeled after traditional one-on-one applied music study, with focus on more advanced applications of the melodic, harmonic, formal and textural elements of solo improvisation. May be repeated for credit.

Tai Chi for Performers

This course will teach the therapeutic benefits gained from the practice of Tai Chi Chuan, with a focus on the needs of performers. We will learn a condensed Tai chi form, along with warm up exercises and energy exercises (qigong). May Experience ONLY.

My goal is to help each student learn how to teach themselves to improvise and compose by providing them with the proper tools and methodology and to help each student find their own musical voice.
