I have been teaching since 2005 but have been exposed to the art of teaching my whole life as my mother Melanie Cavenaugh was a renowned singer and teacher in Houston, TX. I take much pride in the work of my students and the joy and comes in the teaching of the art of singing. I focus on the development of the natural voice and helping it grow to its full potential in a healthy technical manner. I also see the beauty and the art in performance and teach the ability to create the whole experience for the student and for their audience. I have always believed that in order to teach you must have an ability to connect with the psyche of your student and learn how best to convey and idea to them, as every student is beautifully unique.

Ms. Knauer was awarded first prize in the National Federation of Musicians Club Collegiate competition in the state of Illinois, as well as the Bravo Award from the Bel Canto Foundation in Chicago, Illinois.
