for the opportunity to win a brand new Buffet-Crampon E12F clarinet! (Valued at over $2000!)
Winner will be announced at the end of Single Reed Day. Essay submission Deadline is November 10, 2018.
To enter the clarinet essay contest,
- Register for Single Reed Day (Check out the discount options listed below!)
- Write an email essay explaining your current instrument and how this NEW instrument would help you continue your musical studies and possibly prepare for a career in music.
- Submit your 300 - 500 word essay by email to FUSRD2018@GMAIL.COM. Essays will be judged by an outside party.
- The winner must be present at Furman Single Reed Day to claim the prize.

FAQs
Q: What should I bring to Furman Single Reed Day?
A: You should have your instrument, reeds, music (solo and all-state audition music), a notebook for taking notes, a pencil or pen, and money for vendors. Lunch will be provided, but feel free to bring a light snack in case you get hungry.
Q: What is a master class?
A: A master class is a group session in which a teacher coaches a student. These usually involve a single student performer, but include feedback and advice for all in attendance. They are valuable ways to learn from one another and excellent opportunities to perform.
Q: What will the vendors be selling?
A: Reeds, music, accessories, mouthpieces. There will also be clarinets,
saxophones and other equipment available for trial and purchase.
Q: Can we win door prizes?
A: Yes! Many door prizes and free samples awill be given away!

EARLY BIRD: Save $5 if you register BEFORE Nov 1.
ALL-STATE / REGION BAND: Save an additional $10 if you earned a seat in last year's All-State Honors Band: Junior, Clinic or Senior. (seated - alternates not eligible)
