visitus_hdrtrio.jpgVisit the Music Department!

We want to meet and talk with you in person!  Come spend part or all of a day on campus. To schedule the music portion of your visit, follow the steps below. The Admissions Welcome Center will make the necessary faculty connections for class observations and meetings. The Welcome Center staff will need to know your instrument, musical interests and class preferences in order to personalize your schedule.

Type of music visit?
Considering a music major?  You are invited to observe music classes, ensemble rehearsals and meet with a faculty member.
Considering a Performance Major? You may request a sample lesson (25-30 minutes) with a faculty member.
Non-major? You are welcome to observe ensemble rehearsals.

Classes available for observation this term:

Our Campus Visitation Coordinator in the Welcome Center (part of the Admission Office) can assist you with setting up the visit.  Please allow two weeks notice so each faculty member can verify and confirm availability of your class observation or private meeting.
Our rehearsals may change the week-of that group's performance -- dress rehearsals are often moved to evenings the day or two prior to a performance.

Schedule your campus visit.
Staying overnight? View the Music Events calendar.

First visit?  The Daniel Music Building is located to your right as you enter the main gate.  Our floor plan resembles a square donut with one side dipped in icing. The Daniel Recital Hall is our donut hole, surrounded by studios, practice rooms and classrooms. Herring Music Pavilion is an added extension - the icing dip. We are attached to McAlister AuditoriumSee more music facility information.
