Scholarships and aid
We offer a number of talent-based scholarships to incoming freshmen and college transfer students on the basis of competitive auditions. Though priority is given to students intending to major in music, talented non-majors planning to participate in large ensembles and private lessons are eligible for a limited number of participation scholarships. Scholarships are renewable annually if academic and music criteria are maintained. Notification of scholarship award or of acceptance as an intended major is contingent upon admission to Furman.

Apply for aid
To be considered for any need-based financial assistance, you must complete the
CSS Profile and the
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Financial aid packages usually have a combination of Furman need-based grants and/or Merit-based Scholarships, federal/state grants and loans, and work-study.
Be sure to review the deadlines for these forms.
Many students also apply for scholarships administered by agencies and organizations outside of Furman by using online resources like
Fastweb,
FinAid, and the
College Board.
