Join the Lakeside Concert Band to celebrate the Sounds of Summer,
Thursday evenings, 7:30 pm. Relax in the lakeside amphitheater and
enjoy a cross-section of Big Band, Jazz, International, Contemporary,
Marches and Orchestral favorites. The cost will also be music to
your ears – All concerts are FREE. Restrooms and handicap parking
available. Rain/heat location: McAlister Auditorium. Read our

Band & Orchestra Camp
2012: June 10 - 15 Sunday am - Friday pm

For students ages 12-18 with appropriate concert band and orchestral string instrument experience. Students participate in large ensembles, small ensembles, master classes and sectionals supplemented by daily recreational and social activities. Private lessons with college and camp faculty recommended and available for a nominal fee.
Summer Keyboard Institute
2012: June 17 - 22 Sunday pm - Friday pm

For students ages 12 - 18 performing standard piano or organ repertoire at an intermediate level. Students may attend as residents or commuters. Students select primary and secondary areas of study, participating in small group classes, master classes, student recitals, faculty recitals and special topic sessions supplemented by daily recreational and social activities. Private lessons with college and institute faculty recommended and available for a nominal fee.

The
Furman Young Artist Vocal Experience is designed for talented
solo singers and choristers ages 14-18
who perform song literature, oratorio, opera, and traditional musical
theater. Participants have the opportunity to develop their skills
through voice classes, master classes, small ensembles, musicianship
classes, student recitals, faculty recitals and special topic sessions.
Recreation and social activities are offered daily. Students may attend
Furman VocalXP as residents or commuters.
South Carolina Suzuki Institute @ Furman

The South Carolina Suzuki Institute offers an opportunity for
students, parents and teachers to observe, study and improve their knowledge of and skills in the Suzuki music instructional method.
Parents attend all sessions with their student. Classes are available for students studying Suzuki Violin, Suzuki Viola and Suzuki Cello. Advanced classes are also available for those students who have progressed to the top of and out of the Suzuki book levels. While family membership in the SAA as well as your state-level Suzuki organization is recommended, it is not required for students and parents to participate in this institute.
SSA certified Teacher Workshops and Training Sessions available.
Our 2012 TT courses: Violin Bk 3, Violin Bk 4, Cello Bk 2. Any adult considering the Teacher Training courses and national registration should carefully read the guidelines as posted on the national web site: Suzuki Association of the Americas at

TT Audition Guide. Permission to participate in the institute TT courses is approved by the national association, not the individual institutes. Membership in SAA is required.
