Music Technology
If you're interested in pursuing the next frontier in music, our music technology program is one of the most unique in a liberal arts setting. Our students have the ability to test their skills in a wide range of formats. Audio recording. Looping. And, of course, computer-based music notation. Frankly, we have something for anyone who wants to combine their creativity with the latest technology.
Projects in Music Technology
Offered in the spring, our music technology course includes a project that will test your creativity. You'll complete a project utilizing resources available in the department's multimedia seminar room. Topics have included DVD authoring and 5.1 surround sound, live sampling, software synthesis, programming with Max/MSP, and live performance with technology. To take this class, you must complete the core theory sequence or gain permission from the course's instructor. You may take this course more than once to become familiar with a wide range of applications.
Independent Study
If you're studying music theory or composition, you're encouraged to complete an independent study projects involving technology.

Every year, a number of our students are employed as recording engineers for events at Daniel Recital Hall.
