Major requirements
As a member of the National Association of Schools of Music, Furman offers the bachelor of music degree in performance, church music, music education, composition and music theory. You may also pursue a bachelor of arts degree in music, which gives you the flexibility to take a significant number of elective courses and, in some instances, complete a double major.
Our curriculum includes a wide variety of academic
courses, master classes, and private lesson instruction. As classes become more specific, our courses become smaller, providing more individual time to work with faculty at a deeper level.
