Jenny Colvin is director of Furman's Maxwell Music Library. She oversees the music collection, provides research instruction for music classes and works with students individually on muisc research needs. She currently serves as editor of the electronic resources column for Music Reference Services Quarterly, a scholarly journal.
Before coming to Furman, Colvin worked at DePauw University in the music library as a graduate intern in music instructional technology, and as a staff accompanist. She also worked in the Archives of Traditional Music at Indiana University while doing graduate coursework in ethnomusicology and folklore.
Colvin is active in the Music Library Association on the national and regional levels. She has served as the organization's chair of the Reference Sources Subcommittee, as a member of the Oral History Committee, and often serves as a panelist for emerging technologies. She has chaired the oral history project for the Southeast Chapter of the Music Library Association.
