Scholarships
Scholarships are available in all performance areas for music majors and non-majors.
Furman music scholarships are
talent-based awards
offered to incoming freshmen and college transfer students on the basis
of competitive auditions. Although priority is given to students
intending to major in music, talented non-majors planning to
participate in large ensembles and private lessons are also eligible for a limited number of small participation scholarships.
Scholarships are renewable annually if academic and music
criteria are maintained. Notification of scholarship award or of
acceptance as an intended major is contingent upon admission to Furman
University. Contact the Furman Admissions Office for university application deadlines or visit
Engage Furman and click on APPLY.
While Furman accepts the
Common Application and related
Arts Supplement,
the music department prefers to receive the
Furman Music Audition Application and Teacher Recommendation forms so we may better evaluate
your skills, potential and intentions.
The specially planned
Audition Weekends,
one for Early Decision applicants and one for Regular Decision
applicants, offer you the opportunity to talk with faculty, attend a
major department performance, take a campus tour, and meet with an
admissions counselor. Also scheduled during the weekend will be your
performance audition, faculty interview and music theory/aural skills
evaluation. Mark your calendars!
