Since 1999 I have taught all levels of Spanish language, literature, and culture at Furman. I have directed Spanish study away programs to Costa Rica, Chile, and Spain and have traveled extensively through Mexico. My literary research centers on Mexican and Chilean poetry of the twentieth century. I have authored a book on poet José Emilio Pacheco, a Spanish conversation textbook and articles on Latin American poetry. I have also developed a number of different courses on the subject of food and cultural identity.
