Modern Languages and Literatures is proudly located in Furman Hall, amidst our campus's 750 wooded acres. Our Virginia brick buildings and complexes are some of the most impressive in the nation. Yet the most exciting thing about studying foreign languages in our facilities is that you don't have to leave campus to have an enriching cultural experience. With our language houses, resource center, and Japanese temple, our facilities make your classroom be as expansive as you wish.
We encourage you to take full advantage of all the resources around you:
- A state-of-the-art digital lab with everything you need to make multimedia presentations. Visit our Language Resource Center.
- A library subject guide to modern languages. Take a look.
- A language learning tool that goes beyond our course languages.
As a Modern Languages and Literatures student, you will have access to the unique, dynamic program of our language houses, where you can live out the culture of your concentrated language as you improve your skills on a daily basis. Learn about our language houses.
