I am very excited to be here since friendship between Furman and France has been lasting for a long time: my family has been hosting students from Furman for 10 years during the exchange program in Versailles, and now it is my turn to experience life abroad!! I hope you will like discovering French culture with me along the year!
International life is one of my passions, I love being in touch with foreigners and discover their culture! This is one of the reasons why I am studying International business, English and Spanish translation in Paris. Furman is not my first international experience as I lived in Madrid, Spain for 5 months last year and then did an internship in Dublin, Ireland.
My others passions are music and sport! I have been playing the viola since I am 10, used to play in an orchestra, and sing in an operetta.
So, French and Francophone cultures!
It’s not just about vin rouge, baguette and macaron, cuisse de grenouille and snails, there is more to my culture! Activities to discover the variety of French and Francophone cultures and to practice your French language will be organized weekly:
- The “café français” is a good opportunity for you to have a conversation in French around a cup of coffee on, Tuesdays (1:00-1:50 pm), Wednesdays (1:30-2:20 pm), and Thursdays (1:00-1:50 pm) at the Pala Den.
- “Film nights” (with subtitles) will show you the varieties of French and Francophone cultures on Thursdays at 8:00 pm at the Language House (NVA-302).
I would love your input on some other activities we could organize (game nights?) so don’t hesitate to get in touch with me or to ask for some help with your French!
