Hi, everyone, I’m Gao Liwen, the language
house assistant for Chinese. I’m here for a reason. Now, let me explain why I
have been studying English since I was thirteen. I have been taught both
language knowledge and some cultural things. I have been dreaming of going to
the country where the language is spoken.
dream finally came true. I got here on August 20, 2015. Though it’s not the
first time I am in U.S., it is the first time I come so close to people in their
real life. After staying here for one month, I’ve realized what I learned in
class back in China is far from comprehensive; I’ve learned how different we
are in many aspects of life; I’ve also learned how similar we are when it comes
to the basic human needs: we both need love and understanding.
That’s why I am here, not just enhancing our language ability. I’m here
to feel the love between and respect for each other; I’m here to learn
understanding and stimulate understanding between each other; I’m here to prove
as a human being, we all love peace and harmony. To achieve these, we need to
explore each other’s life; we need to explore each other’s culture; we need to
involve each other in our daily routine.
come to the language house. We can experience Chinese culture while enjoying
a Chinese movie (every Saturday night); we can cook and taste Chinese cuisine in
room 302, Building A North Village; we
can go bicycling on the Swamp Rabbit Trail; we can share happiness by giving
interesting performance; or we can just talk to each other about confusion and
issues we both have over a cup of Chinese tea.
You’re always welcome to Chinese language house. You can always reach me
by emailing to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. I’ll always be there
