Alumni

The
Mathematics Department is very proud of its alumni! In recent years,
graduates from our department have gone on to do wonderful things. We
have graduates who have worked in all sorts of industries (finance,
education, medicine, law, …) and for all sorts of agencies and companies
(Central Intelligence Agency, United Parcel Service, National Football
League, …).
Graduates who pursued further mathematical study in graduate school
have done so at places like Harvard, University of Wisconsin,
University of Georgia, Emory, Vanderbilt, University of North Carolina,
Clemson, Duke, UC-Berkeley, Cornell, Yale, and many others. Our
mathematics graduates who choose graduate study in other fields (e.g.
medicine, law, economics) tell us frequently that their mathematics
training at Furman was key to their successes in these other areas.
Whatever our graduates do, there is one thing about which we are most proud. Our graduates choose what suits them best, and they succeed. With a mathematics degree earned in a liberal arts setting, our students are prepared for whatever vocations they pursue in life.
