Jeff McCoy is the Executive Director of Academic Innovation and Technology for Greenville County Schools. The Greenville County School District is the largest school district in the state of South Carolina and 47th largest in the nation. McCoy reports directly to the Associate Superintendent for Academics and oversees multiple academic and technology departments including instructional technology, title one, media services, virtual high school, distance learning, Roper Mountain Science Center, STAR Academy and the ESOL Department.
McCoy is also responsible for implementing special academic initiatives. His departments are made up 15 direct reports and 52 staff members. He works closely with the Division of Information Technology to complete projects that have academic impact on students. He also serves on multiple state and national advisory boards that deal with technology integration and student academic performance. McCoy began his career with Greenville County Schools as a middle school language arts teacher.
