Furman's graduate studies program is designed for the professional educator. We know the challenges teachers and administrators face every day, and we are committed to preparing educators who are scholars and leaders.
Within the master of arts program in education, degree concentrations are available for teachers and other professional school personnel in Curriculum and Instruction, Early Childhood, Literacy, School Leadership, Special Education (Learning Disabilities, Emotional/Behavioral Disorders), and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).
The Ed.S. (Educational Specialist) degree program in Educational Leadership allows current teachers or administrators who already hold a M.A. or M.Ed. and are certified in school administration, to advance their degree and add certification for the superintendency. This program, new in Fall 2010, prepares candidates to be school system and district leaders.
