Mission Statement
The mission of the Department of Economics is to promote economic literacy within the framework of the university's strong liberal arts tradition. The curriculum is structured to strengthen a student's quantitative and analytical reasoning abilities. Specifically, students will study theories, concepts, and methods that will be useful in understanding contemporary economic problems. Students are encouraged to think critically and expected to communicate effectively in written and oral form.
