Graduate and Professional School
The department Chair should remain cognizant of the relationships that department members have developed with faculty in graduate and professional programs that students in the department might wish to attend. Such relationships can yield information about the programs that is not readily available online or in print, and it may help students’ applications get a fair reading in years when the number of applications is high.
Relationships can be developed with faculty members who have been invited to speak at Furman, with faculty in departments from which Furman faculty members have graduated, and through academic conferences. This, too, is part of our continuing responsibility to prepare students for life after Furman.
