Sample Grading Notice

The following message will be sent to all faculty members with Furman e-mail accounts.  Please make sure that all instructors in your department, especially adjunct and part-time appointments who may not receive the e-mail below, are aware of the final grade deadline and submission procedures.  Our goal is 100% of the final grades submitted by the established deadline.  Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Be aware.  You may submit final grades for fall 2008 beginning tomorrow... Friday, December 12.  Please take a moment now to confirm that course rosters available through ARMS (Advising & Registration Made Simple) accurately reflect enrollment in your course section(s).  Report any discrepancies immediately to us in Academic Records via e-mail at academic.records@furman.edu.  A valid grade must be issued for all students that appear on your course roster, no grades should be reported for individuals that do not appear on the course roster.  A list of valid grades and an explanation of grading practices at Furman are available in the Academic Regulations section of the University Catalog.

All grades should be submitted electronically using ARMS.  Instructions for using this tool are available online.  If you have further questions or concerns, contact us in Academic Records at 294-2030.  We'll be glad to help in any way that we can.  If you can not use ARMS to submit your grades, please visit Academic Records in person (we are open 8:30AM to 5:00PM every weekday) to complete the process. 

Fall semester grades must be submitted no later than 5:00PM on Friday, December 19.  Plan now to ensure that you will be able to submit grades in a timely fashion.
