Course Adjustment Period (CAP)

Department chairs establish procedures for “signing in” students over the stated enrollment capacity including management of course section “waiting lists”.  The procedures apply only to “departmental” courses. Course adjustment activity in first year seminars is managed exclusively through Academic Records on a space available basis. If a department wishes to place a student in a given section of a departmental class that is full, a department assistant may use Datatel to override the student into the class. In such cases, it is often useful to consult the faculty member teaching the course prior to executing the override.
