Five Year Staffing Plan
Chairs must create a five year staffing plan for their departments. Although its primary purpose is to help inform the academic affairs budget planning process, the five year staffing plan can be a useful planning tool for the department as well. It can be used to link staffing needs to expected course demand, alert the chair to staffing crunches that might result from multiple sabbaticals or leaves of absence that occur in a given year, and assist the chair in seeing how staffing needs would be affected by departmental curriculum changes.
