Research and Internship Opportunities Communication Studies Furman University

Research opportunities

The Communication Studies department offers a variety of research opportunities that allow you to conduct an independent study in your area of interest. You'll also have the chance to assist our faculty with research. Previous research projects in our department include a look at the use of technology by African market women in Ghana, the documentation of methods of publishing Gettysburg Address nuances and the process of verifying historical speeches, and an exploration of the history of television and radio broadcasting in the state of South Carolina.

Internships

Internships are often the gateway to the professional world. At Furman, it's not unusual for organizations to offer full-time jobs to students who have served as interns. Many Communication Studies students complete a paid or unpaid internship in their area of interest.

Where have Furman students interned? The list is long. You'll find opportunities with advertising agencies, public relations firms, radio and television stations, businesses, and non-profit organizations.
