Want to lead a company? Or start your own? Our Business and Accounting department will prepare you for leadership in any field.
Unlike undergraduate programs at other schools, our faculty and students don't take a narrow approach to solving today's complex management problems. Our comprehensive curriculum focuses on the connections between accounting, finance, marketing, operations and other disciplines. You'll learn how to communicate, think creatively, analyze situations, and work effectively in teams. At Furman, we'll ensure that you have the skills to succeed wherever your ambition takes you.

Not a Business Administration or Accounting major but interested in taking business or accounting courses?

The Department of Business and Accounting offers a variety of courses that may be of interest to strengthen your business acumen or to expand your base of knowledge before starting your career or graduate study.  Depending on your interests, you could take one or more of the courses listed HERE. The groupings are suggestions only, as we want to work with you to identify a set of courses that build on your interests and major.

We encourage you to set up an appointment with the Department Coordinator (anna.notation-rhoades@furman.edu) to discuss your interests.

Please note that not all courses are taught each year and there is no guarantee of space available.  If you plan to apply to be a Business Administration major, contact the Department Coordinator immediately as Business Administration majors cannot take BUS-320 and BUS-340.  Check course prerequisites listed in the Furman University catalog.
