The Graphic Design studio gives students access to 2015 Mac computers and the lastest version of Adobe programs such as Illustrator and Photoshop. Classes are capped at 12 in order to allow for better class intruction, and comradory that fosters a uniquely encouraging environment for students.
The Sculpture studio is always filled with found obejcts for studnets to draw instirpatoin from. This studio is full of natual light and large workspaces for students to utilize, including an assorted amount of hand tools and statoinary tools such as: band saw, table, saw, sanders, and two dust collectors. Classes are capped at 12 in order to allow for better class instruction and for more engaging critiques as well as to give students the proper space to fully explore sculpting at any scale.
The Ceramics studio is full of throwing wheels, clay, and any glaze imaginable. Be prepared to get a little dirty and have lots of fun exploring this amazing craft. Students are allowed to take over the space and really dig their fingers into the clay both literally and figuratively. This classroom has access to an outdoor space allowing students to work outside if they choose. Classes are capped at 12 to allow better critiques and to make sure students have ample amounts of materials.
The Painting studio is live with color due to the amazing still lives always on dispaly in the space. There is never a lack of insperation in this room, as new scenes are always being arranged for students to paint. Classes are capped at 12 to allow student to spread out to find the perfect angle.
The photography lab gives student the ability to process film and print photos. The lab is always kept in the best condition, in order to allow students to do their best work. Furman photography program is also proud to include a darkroom with 6 enlargers, allowing students o fully explore the technique of film photography and the development process.
The printmaking studio has two Charles Printing presses, a fully prepared darkroom, and a sink with a pressure washer to allow students to explore many different types of printmaking.
