The Furman University Paladin Battalion (Army ROTC) is founded on deep and rich military traditions and made up of Cadets that attend either Furman University, North Greenville University, or Bob Jones University. North Greenville University and Bob Jones University are crosstown programs with Furman University's Army ROTC department. With hundreds of Officers commissioning through this program to include 11 General Officers, Furman University has a rich military history.
Our goal is to prepare cadets with the tools, training and experiences that will help them succeed in any competitive environment. Cadets will have a normal college student experience like everyone else on campus, but when they graduate, some will become Officers in the Army.
Leadership Labs are designed to develop Cadets into confident and competent leaders by providing education on necessary skills and placing the Cadets in leadership positions. Every semester, there is a Field Training Exercise (FTX) where Cadets incorporate their knowledge and leadership skills into a cumulative event. Between the Junior and Senior years, Cadets travel to Ft. Knox Kentucky for 37 days where they will learn valuable skills with all Cadets across the country.
