German Language House
Hi everybody!
My name is Alexandra (my friends call me Saschi though) and I am the German Language House Assistant this year!
I’m from Munich, Bavaria in the south of Germany. I study English and Italian at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München in order to become a Grammar School teacher. As part of my studies I have to live in an English speaking country for a certain amount of time, which brought me to Furman University, yay!
In my free time I like to hang out with friends, go to one of our many Biergarten somewhere downtown Munich, go shopping and read. I also like horse riding and walking my dog...Basically I enjoy everything that has to do with people, I am very interested in languages and getting to know various cultures.
That is why I’m so happy to be here at Furman and I can’t wait to get to know y’all - see, I’m already picking up on the southern drawl J
Future activities for the German Language House will involve Movie and Game Nights, we will cook some typically German dishes, listen to German Music; and obviously, since I’m from Bavaria, I’m going to teach you some Bavarian Slang, I don’t want you to get lost in case you decide to come to the Oktoberfest sometime J If you are interested we could organize a mini Oktoberfest here as well!
You can also meet up with me to talk and practice your German or if you have any questions about the German language/culture I will be more than happy to help you with this, too!
Please don’t hestitate to send me an email if you want further information on any of the activities!
I can’t wait to get to know you,
Tschüss!
