ClarkMorgan Cooperate Training - Shanghai, China: This summer, alum Jeff Lunz has given Furman students an opportunity to engage in the Chinese business world through an internship with the ClarkMorgan Coporate Training company. Please contact Susan Zeiger for more details.
Asian Studies majors have also participated in a number of other internships abroad in the past; the Department has particularly strong ties in Suzhou, China. Some funding may be available to students pursuing similar opportunities to help cover the cost of travel and living expenses. If you are interested in pursuing this kind of opportunity, please contact the Department.

Research programs
Fulbright U.S. Student Program grants (www.fulbright.state.gov) – grants for an academic year (with opportunities for Critical Language Enhancement Awards). For research grants in 2009, 65 were awarded to students to research in mainland China, 10 in Taiwan, 26 in Japan, 14 in South Korea and 60 in India. For teaching grants in 2009, 28 were awarded to students to teach in Taiwan, 70 in South Korea and 15 in India.
