Greek Organizations

Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA)
America's first Greek-letter organization established by and for black women in 1908, AKA cultivates high scholastic and ethical standards, promotes unity and friendship among college women, and provides community service in the Greenville area. The Rho Zeta chapter was chartered at Furman in 1994.

Delta Sigma Theta (DST)
Established in 1913, DST draws on the collective strength of college women to promote academic excellence, community service, and cultural enrichment. Furman Deltas are members are the Xi Iota city-wide chapter based in Spartanburg, S.C.

Kappa Alpha Psi
Founded in 1911 at Indiana University, Kappa Alpha Psi was organized on the Furman campus in the spring of 1994. The fraternity promotes the values of honor and patriotism and enhances the personal growth and development of its members through leadership preparation and encouragement to achieve.

Omega Psi Phi
An organization of men bound together by friendship, knowledge, brotherhood, and common goals and aspirations, Omega Psi Phi is a unique group of men that encourage high standards and community service and assist in the building of character and leadership development among men. Members of Omega share a common foundation of comradeship that lasts a lifetime. The Furman Omega Psi Phi members belong to the graduate chapter, Mu Pi of Greenville, SC.
