Sustainability Planning Council
The Sustainability Planning Council was created in 2005 to oversee and encourage the university's sustainability efforts. The council's 124 members make up a core steering committee and four standing committees: curriculum, co-curriculum, communications and campus operations. It continues to play a critical role in advancing sustainability efforts by helping implement the university's sustainability plan and documenting the efforts made by Furman.
The council is currently co-chaired by political science and earth and environmental science professor Angela Halfacre, who is the director of the Shi Center for Sustainability, and earth and environmental science professor Bill Ranson.
