Furman University has raised $406 million to fund a number of major initiatives as it brings the "Because Furman Matters" capital fundraising campaign to a successful close.
In all 27,250 alumni, parents, faculty and staff and friends made a gift during the campaign, which ended December 31.
Participation levels were inspiring. Seventy-eight percent of alumni and more than 80 percent of faculty and staff made a gift during the campaign. Parents of students, too, contributed a total of $48 million.
The university's official press release is linked below with some campaign related success stories. A special edition of Furman Magazine dedicated to the campaign will be published next month. It will include stories highlighting the achievements of the campaign through the stories of impacted students, faculty and donors. Read the press release.
