Ron Malone served as Chairman of the Board of Gentiva Health Services from 2002 to 2011, as Chief Executive Officer from 2002 through 2008, and as a director through May, 2012. He joined Gentiva in 2000 as executive vice president and president of Gentiva's Home Health Division. During the period of his leadership, Gentiva became recognized as the leading home health and hospice company with significant growth in revenue, earnings and shareholder value.
Prior to joining Gentiva, Mr. Malone held management positions with the staffing division of Olsten Corporation, a major provider of professional and temporary staffing, and rose to become president of the North American business unit. He was previously a sales, customer service and operations executive with Emery Worldwide, an international air freight company.
In addition to Gentiva, Mr. Malone currently serves on the board of Hill-Rom Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: HRC) a leading worldwide manufacturer and innovator of medical technologies and related services for the healthcare industry, and as a director of Capital Senior Living, Inc. (NYSE: CSU), a leading operator of independent and
assisted living for seniors. He served as Chairman, President and Founding Member of the Alliance for Home Health Quality and Innovation. He is active as a private equity adviser and investor and is a principal of a healthcare revenue cycle outsourcing and consulting company.
Mr. Malone is a 1981 graduate of Furman, where he has served on the Advisory Committee and as Co-Chair of the Because Furman Matters campaign.
He and his wife Tammy, live north of Furman and have two sons.
