Douglas K. Freeman
Douglas K. Freeman, a 1972 graduate of Furman, received his M.B.A. from the University of South Carolina in 1975. He is currently a bank consultant.  With more than 40 years experience in the financial services industry, he has held senior-level positions at major regional and national institutions including Bank of America, NationsBank, Barnett Bank, and Wells Fargo Bank.

He served as chairman of the board of directors of the Bank Administration Institute, an industry "think tank" and education group. He also served on the board and as chair of the Consumer Bankers Association, a retail bank trade group. He was a member of the Thrift Advisory Board fore the Federal Reserve System. An avid supporter of education, he has taught for 35 years at the Graduate School of Retail Banking at Furman University, where he served for a number of years as the chair of the board of trustees of the program. An advocate of private sector involvement in the public sector, he served on the Economic Development Commission in California and chaired the Financial/Public Private Efforts on Economic Development in Florida known as Enterprise Florida. He is on the board of trustees at the Moore School of Business at USC.

Doug and his wife, Patricia, have two daughters, Dorothy '04 and Nan '07.
