Boyd Yarbrough became the Special Assistant to the President for Strategic Planning in 2011. He came to Furman as the Director of Housing in 1999 where he served for 9 years. He became Assistant Vice President for Administrative Services from 2008 – 2012. During this time, he oversaw Auxiliary Services, including Dining Services, the Bookstore, the Golf Course and Conference and Event Services. He also was responsible for Administrative Services including University Police, Purchasing and Travel, the Post Office and other areas. In addition, Boyd was also responsible for Human Resources on an interim basis.
He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Furman in 1985, and earned his M.A. in Human Development and Psychology from Appalachian State University. Boyd subsequently earned his Ed.S. and Ed.D. in Higher Education from Florida State University.
Boyd and his wife, Lisa, have two children, Ambra and Tyler.
