The Office for Study Away & International Education sponsored the 13th Annual International Photography Exhibition and Contest in January.

Contest Guidelines

Photographs must have been taken by a current Furman student on a Furman faculty-led study away, affiliate or exchange program, or while engaging in a Furman-sponsored international internship, volunteer project or research opportunity abroad between August 2011 and December 2012. 

Photo Contest Categories

• Cultural encounters: Images that reflect the immersion in a cultural context.
• Learning moments: Images that reflect moments of discovery or active participation in educational activities such as field work, discussion or reflection.
• Scenery: Images of cityscapes or landscapes viewed from a distance.
• Natural ecology: Images of flora, fauna and natural elements.

Contest Winners

A panel of judges from the Furman community reviewed contest submissions and selected the prize winners, except for the People's Choice award, which was determined by community voting during the exhibition.
