Furman/Davidson Conference
The idea for the Furman/Davidson Summer Research Conference began many years ago when Julio Ramirez (Davidson) and Gil Einstein (Furman) started talking about opportunities for getting our students and faculty together. We hosted our first conference at Furman in 2007. It was a great success and we have been alternating sites every year since then. With funding from Furman's Office of Undergraduate Research, the psychology departments at Furman and Davidson, and a grant from the Society for the Teaching of Psychology, this one day conference includes two poster sessions and an oral presentation session. The conference is thriving, and we look forward to it every year.
Given our very large summer undergraduate research program (about 25 students per year at Furman), this conference provides an initial opportunity for students to present their research to a broader audience. An added benefit is that it allows the Furman and Davidson faculty members to share ideas about teaching and research.
