Danielle Vinson's academic interests are Political Communication and American Political Institutions. She has done research on how local media cover Congress, and she is currently studying how members of Congress use the national media to influence policy making. She has also done research on political communications in campaigns and media coverage of religion and politics.
She teaches courses in American Government, the US Congress, Media and Politics, and the American Presidency and frequently directs the Washington internship program.
Dr. Vinson is the 2001 recipient of the Alester G. Furman, Jr. and Janie Earle Furman Award for Meritorious Advising.
