Furman University nief-norf Summer Festival

nief-norf Summer Festival

May 29-June 8, 2013

The nief-norf Summer Festival is an interdisciplinary event that brings together dozens of performers, composers, and scholars to collaborate on the performance, creation, and discussion of contemporary percussion solo and chamber music. The festival offers a think-tank environment and presents inspiring and devoted performances of modern music, aiming to encourage both appreciation and support for live music and contemporary art.

The festival is an outgrowth of the nief-norf Project whose mission is to champion both celebrated and unknown repertoire from the 20th and 21st centuries, and present concerts in a variety of formats. It offers, for those selected to attend, advanced performance, composition, and research opportunities. Must be age 18 by February 1. Deposit due upon acceptance. Performances are open to the public.
